100% inspected: in a maximum of 36 seconds per part.

Up to 2,400 e-motor housings a day are inspected fully automatically by 42 sensors. Defects from 0.2 mm are reliably detected in line with the defect catalogue, and the inspection time is a maximum of 36 seconds per part. Defective parts are rejected automatically, additionally checked by a human inspector and packed at the same time: this keeps 100% inspection manageable even at high throughput.

What the solution looked like

From camera image to inspection decision: in seconds

Every housing passes through the sensor stations automatically; defects are located, assessed and documented before a decision is made on rejection and packaging.

Customer benefit

High throughput without compromising reliability

Fully automated 100% inspection replaces manual sampling with complete inspection of up to 2,400 parts a day: with an inspection time of a maximum of 36 seconds per part and a detection limit from 0.2 mm. The additional human check of defective parts ensures that automation and the inspectors' experience complement rather than replace each other.
